Caffe Concerto

Walking merrily along in Fitzrovia (Tottenham Court Road to you mere mortals) this weekend, a shop front caught Bespokecity's eye. Because our readers' satisfaction is paramount to us, we decided to investigate further. We were at the less grotty end of Tottenham Court, the part without the electronics stores that still sell cassette players. We were upmarket baby; where the Heal's and the Grafton Hotels reside, just by the McDonald's next to Warren Street (what do you mean McDonald's is not upmarket). The decor was the first thing that drew us to Caffe Concerto - the interior is reminiscent of an old school pattisserie in Paris, somewhere you'd go to buy cakes and pasteries bound to make one toothless if eaten in copious amounts. The second thing was the incredible array of little cakes, sandwiches and fruit tarts available. Caffe Concerto is a chain of which we knew nothing about but several shops exist all over London - shows how often we go out to eat cake.
