What: Crossrail Place Roof Garden

If you haven’t seen the Canary Wharf Cross Rail station you need to get yourself down there. To be fair unless you work at the Wharf, it’s not the place you accidentally find yourself. The station was designed by Lord Foster and includes four floors of shopping and restaurants with a gym and a stage (?)

The centre also includes iconic roof gardens that opened on Saturday just gone. “The roof garden, landscaped by London-based studio Gillespies, is located directly beneath a 310-metre-long transparent hood. Triangular air-filled cushions made from ETFE – a type of plastic used for its resistance to corrosion – are set into the timber-latticed awning”. Now I don’t know what any of that means but it sounds quite impressive.
