The insider’s guide to the city

The Weekend

September 7th 2012

September is going way too quick but thank God there's going to be some sunshine this weekend. Tonight, Monkey Shoulder which is an ode to everything whisky related is on at a secret location in London. N. Peal is holding a sample sale of it's finest cashmere sweaters (how very Carlton from Fresh Prince) till tomorrow. The Thames Festival is on from tomorrow with so many events we couldn't possibly list all of them here - from barges sailing on the Thames to Korean kung-fu fighters in front of the Tate to the Blue Ribbon Village by Tower Bridge to the Homage to Rio at the Oxo Tower, that's more or less all your ideas in one place. But we wouldn't do that to you - one of last week's ideas - Africa Express ends on Friday at Granary Square with Damon Albarn et al. The Paralympics ends this weekend which means a marathon and a closing Ceremony - catch David Weir at the marathon in the City and the Closing Ceremony on a big screen courtesy of BT London Live. As far as clubbing goes our picks for the weekend are Over:Load at the Jazz Cafe and also Ghetto Heaven at the Supper Club both tonight.
