BESPOKE CITY

The Weekend

September 14th 2012

No time to waste today, not even time for a joke so we'll get right into it. First, the arty-farty. The San Francisco Ballet comes to Sadler's Wells tonight and goes on till the 23rd. At the Barbican, Everything was Moving, a photography exhibition with images from the 60s and 70s opened yesterday and runs for a year. Second, the music. The Brick Lane Festival with Ram Jam Rodigan is on this Saturday, Ali Shaheed of A Tribe Called Quest DJ's at The Doctor's Orders and soul man Calvin Richardson is at the Islington Assembly Hall. Probably one of the biggest things happening is The London Design Festival which starts today and ends on the 23rd with over 300 events on in the city - a lot of shows are trade only but there are many for paying customers.  The other big deal is the start of London Fashion Week today with various shows, parties and shopping which goes on till the 23rd. Somerset House is the hub for most of the shows - if you can't get in, Topshop.com will be streaming events. Two sample sales to coincide with Fashion Week, Hobbs starts today with up to 75% off at the Chiswick Town Hall and Les Nereides is offering up to 80%. Have a great weekend.
