The Weekend

October 5th 2012

The weekend is a tale of two galleries - Pace Gallery opened their flagship London gallery yesterday in Burlington Gardens and kick off with this exhibition. David Zwirner opens a five floor gallery in Grafton Street today. We somehow managed to miss Michael Werner's opening last week - this opened on the 27th of September in Mayfair. Buckingham Palace's summer opening ends this weekend, and as if on cue, Best of Britannia, an exhibition which celebrates all things Brit is on in Clerkenwell from today. As part of Black History Month, the British Museum hosts a perspective with different films on 50 years of independence for Jamaica and Trinidad. The Ether music festival, a kind of mini SXSW for London, starts at the Southbank tomorrow. The Bicycle Film Festival, a weekend of films devoted to cyclists (bless, them) lands in London till the 7th. Two plays at the Stratford Theatre - both on today and tomorrow, the nine piece Sibikwa orchestra and the play Mother to Mother. Last but not least, Lemar performs at Shaka Zulu tonight.
