Wood Street Indoor Market

October 15th 2012

What: Wood Street Indoor Market
When: 10am-5.30pm Mon-Sat; 10am-8pm first Thur every month
Where: 98-100 Wood Street, Walthamstow

Walthamstow used to be known for a market near the station and the dog track. The dog track, with greyhounds chasing an electric rabbit and fat men placing wagers on the outcome was the highlight of this part of surburbia. Now the dog track is gone and there’s little reason to make the up north trip on the Victoria Line...except you’re coming to Wood Street Market. Wood Street is the posher part of Walthamstow, an ideal location for the indoor market that’s a little on the quirky side. In Wood Street market you will find vintage clothing stores, antique furniture shops, a vinyl record store, homeware, books and most importantly a cafe that does a fry-up. There are 50 units and there are events throughout the week. Tomorrow bring your child for "stories and sticking textiles with toddlers", if that makes sense to you...
