What: Skymarket
When: Tues to Sat, 12pm-10pm
Where: Skyroom, 5th Floor, 148 Tooley Street, SE1 2TU

The venue for Skymarket previously featured on The Daily Idea as the London Picnic club – check out what we wrote here. However, the venue is no more used for pop-ups and has now been dedicated permanently to the Skymarket.  Skymarket is a novel idea – a market on a 5th floor roof in London with an art and craft gallery, performance space, food, a bar, shopping  – vertigo induced spending – just pick your poison. What’s even more novel is that the roof market is open till 10pm at night, so you can come straight after work and get thoroughly sloshed (Bespokecity does not advocate drunkenness, heck, we don’t even drink). More important than the drink though is the food – the food ranges from Indonesian, to African, to Caribbean to South American. Tuesday seems to be the lively day. At lunchtime between 12 and 4 you can watch the team of chefs at an open cooking class or presentation and in the evening from 6.30pm, the bartenders take over as they present workshops in “production, mixology and techniques, host open tasting sessions and exchange ideas for cocktails.”
