Opening Ceremony

November 1st 2012

What: Opening Ceremony
When: See website
Where: 35 King Street, Covent Garden

London is late to the party. With stores in New York, Tokyo and LA, Opening Ceremony finally opened a store in King Street in Covent Garden earlier this month. Opening Ceremony is not your average department store – they carry few runs of exclusive designers to guarantee exclusivity. This of course translates to higher than average prices but also means you won’t get caught out wearing the same outfit as anyone else, ‘cos isn’t that what it’s all about? The brands on display range from Kenzo to Proenza to J.W. Anderson. What’s more intriguing about Opening Ceremony is that they choose a country every year as their featured country – this year is Korea but thankfully Psy and Ban Ki-Moon inspired fashions do not feature anywhere here. British designer Faye Toogood also has a specially commissioned furniture installation for the store so if you can’t afford anything, walk around and have a look at the art.
